I’ve had my eye on these TOMS pint-sized shoes for years and now that I have a little munchkin of my own, I can finally pickup a pair or two for him!
I own a pair of Grey Canvas Classics that I religiously wore throughout my pregnancy and now I sport a black pair as I run around the city chasing after my toddler. I don’t recall much of a choice beyond crochet, glitters and a few fun print patterns so when I saw the variety for kids at a media preview, I was blown away!
Of course little misses have double the selection – including cute strappy sandals in cheery contrasting colours. As for the little boy explorers, how adorable are these high tops?!
My son is obviously too young to understand social responsibility right now but as a parent, I feel good knowing that these shoes aren’t just a fashion statement but that someone else in the world is also benefiting from my purchase.
Despite the criticism (back in 2012) that the #OneForOne model is a Doomed Vanity Project and not the most efficient way to provide poverty alleviation, TOMS created The Giving Report. They also have rigorous best practices with suppliers to certify that the materials are procured in accordance with all applicable laws, including those around slavery and human trafficking.
As a Momma in the Marketing industry, I look forward to supporting this brand and sharing their story with my son. It’s a win/win for all – look good and do good!
